Building and Specialist Renovation

In and around Atzeneta, all new building and full renovation projects require a building license which must be obtained from the local Town Hall before emarking on a new project.
There are two types of building license, one is for minor works which is straightforward and one is for major works.
Minor works cover changes to a building that generally do not involve altering the structure, roof, windows, doors etc.
Major works require an architect´s project and the architect used must be recognised by the College of Architects, in Castellon. The architect takes care of all aspects of the project including building specifications, supervision of essential build criteria, conformation and signing off the habitation certificate at the end of the project.
Extensions, full renovations and all new constructions require a Major Works Building License.
Imomaestrat is happy to introduce clients to known and trusted local architects and to help with language or translation if necessary during the planning stage.
Imomaestrat works alongside local builders and specialist craftsmen who know and understand the local system and regulations. Introductions to Spanish or non-Spanish builders, including English can be arranged if required.
